One of the better holidays here is Diwali, the festival of lights. It
is in November and since it lasts a few days it is a great opportunity
for an extended vacation.
In 2004, we had just gotten here, so Diwali was spent looking at
fireworks from the Hyderabad ITC Sheraton.
2005 found us....holy mackerel. I don't remember. I think we just
hung out and talked about how we really needed better plans for
Diwali. Or else we went to Bangalore. I can't remember.
2006 was our 10th wedding anniversary and Campbell's 4th birthday, so
we went south to Maldives -- paradise!
In 2007, we debated endlessly -- I wanted something beachy (Ko Somui?)
and LA wanted something more cultured (London -- in November!). So we
went with C's first choice, which means we are headed BACK to the
Maldives.
Yay!
